The largest MLK march in the country is right here in San Antonio. Every year.
Today’s turnout was incredible. The crowd was massive and diverse and I left feeling so proud of the city. For all of the missteps, political rifts, and horrible crimes that fill our local news feeds (especially recently, it seems) that wild idea of peacefully standing up for what’s important hasn’t died. So many causes, so many strangers. And all morning we stood side by side, shook hands, looked each other in the eyes, even hugged. We noticed each other, and it was great. These are some of the people I met and some of what I saw. It doesn’t really being to describe.
