Chris + Kari

Thursday, June 27, 2013

I could shoot weddings like this all year.

When I met Kari she told me that only a couple of things mattered going into the wedding: that everyone have a great time and that there are photos of it. They had picked a family home for the ceremony and dinner with a couple dozen friends, and there would be beautiful flowers (and WOW, Cebolla nailed it). Beyond that she told me she didn’t need a picture of her dress hanging from a tree, or photos of her Tom’s. No garter, no DJ. She and Chris worked hard to keep it simple. They did a first look, shared a martini, greeted everyone and said I do in a circle of loved ones. It was honest and perfect, and only a few hours after the most torrential rain and flooding San Antonio has had in decades.

Nothing phased them and nothing distracted from the main act. Chris and Kari are in love and it was their wedding day. Thank you to Style Me Pretty for sharing this wedding!

Colleen & Will, Wedding at the Don Strange Ranch

Tuesday, March 19, 2013

I have been sitting on this wedding for far too long. Shame on me, because it’s a good one. Colleen & Will married at the Don Strange Ranch last November, surrounded by so many handmade details. Colleen’s mother pulled largely from her own mother’s collection of jewelry, vintage cake toppers and heirloom glass. The end result was a bright, polished and relaxed party for everyone. The best kind of wedding.

Kristen + Jeremy, Becker Vineyards Wedding

Friday, September 9, 2011

I cannot say enough good things about this wedding or these people. Until last Saturday I had never met Kristen or Jeremy. This was a wedding planned from afar and aside from emails and a few phone conversations we were essentially strangers. With that said, from the second I met Kristen I got swept up in her excitement. She was beaming and overjoyed and not at all overwhelmed or distracted. She was the best kind of bride to be around. And Jeremy. While we waited for Kristen before their first look Jeremy told me all about how they met and how long they’ve been together. There was a beam there too. This whole day was beautiful and bright, literally and emotionally. Thank you both so much for having me.

I also have to say thank you to Dustin, who is a boss at second shooting.
