For me, weddings are a reminder that family, close friends and the relationships we tend to bring the most filling kind of happiness. People are everything, but I admit to getting lost in the chaos of work and life’s frustrations. This year was exhilarating but also pretty tough at times, and each experience (good or bad) felt amplified. I moved away from San Francisco, ended a relationship after seven years, worked a bunch, traveled a bunch, and fell in love again. My 2015 was about learning to be patient and present from one change to the next. The luck in all of it was that every couple of weeks I was shooting another wedding that filled my heart and reminded me what life is all about. I can’t thank my couples enough for that grounding.
Chelsea and Tyler’s wedding was my last for 2015 and the perfect capstone to a year of particularly sentimental weddings. With 60 guest, 7 flower boys, a crooked cake, and a twinkling Riverwalk we took some of my favorite photos of the year. Looking at these photos I feel as happy now as I did that day. This is what it’s all about.
A also owe a huge thanks to Rick for shooting with me at this and many other wedding this year. You’re the best, Rick!
